Robertshaw’s has been producing and selling fresh food since 1929. We’ve gone from selling potatoes and vegetables at the side of the road to having an award-winning Butchers, Delicatessen, Greengrocers, Larder and a range of beers, wines and spirits. We also have an offsite Bakery, where we produce our own pies, confectionery and our famous Yorkshire puddings.
We are thrilled to have opened a new shop in Skipton and we can't wait to share our delicious products with our new customers.
Butchers
We are fourth generation farmers and butchers and our original shop in Thornton is built on a working sheep farm. We have great relationships with local farmers, who we know and trust, and we buy the best quality meat at Skipton Auction Mart.
We traditional butcher our meat in the shop, with years of experience passed down through 4 generations of Robertshaws. We pride ourselves on our top quality beef, which is aged for 28 days. Our butchers are always on hand to help customers with expert advice on choosing the right cut of meat, and the best way to prepare and cook it.
Bakery
We make our own pies, cakes and pastries at our off-site bakery. Our bakers work through the night making our delicious baked goods, so that they are fresh for first thing in the morning.
We use the best quality, local ingredients and we keep it in the community. The
milk and eggs used in the bakery are from local farmers, as are many of the
other ingredients that we use. At our Skipton shop we have a bread slicing machine where you can choose the thickness you would like and have your bread cut to perfection.
Delicatessen
Visit our delicatessen and discover, award-winning homemade pies, locally made cheeses and home cooked meats. We are proud that over 95% of our delicatessen counter is from Yorkshire and we make our own pies and pastries at our bakery.
The Flower Cart
Our beautifully arranged flowers are perfect for any occasion or simply just to brighten your day. We have many arrangements ready to purchase, or speak to our florists and they will arrange your perfect bouquet.
Greengrocers
We sell over 200 different varieties and buy as much locally as possible, keeping food miles down. However, we can't grow bananas in Yorkshire so a few things do come from further afield. Nothing can compare to the taste of locally grown crops!
Most fruit and veg is sold loose which allows you to buy as much or as little as you need. We buy fresh everyday from local markets and producers, ensuring we only have the freshest and best quality produce in the shop. We buy with the seasons and you'll see that prices can change daily, this is because it comes straight from the grower and prices fluctuate depending on weather, season and crop yield.
Larder
Our Larder boasts over 200 local producers and suppliers. Championing local means supporting local businesses, reducing food miles and knowing exactly where our food comes from. You can't get fresher than what's found on your doorstep.
Beers, Wines & Spirits
Our range of wines have been hand selected by us to complement the food in the shop. We also have a vast range of locally brewed, regional ales. Take your pick from over 200 different beers from around 30 different breweries around Yorkshire. We can highly recommend our very own beers, The Baa-man & Farmer's Ale.

Our gift section has a wonderful range of gorgeous gifts for every occasion. It’s the perfect place to find presents for friends and family, or to simply treat yourself.
